Another windy day on Whidbey Island is delaying ferry-goers trying to cross Admiralty Inlet.
Due to high winds and heavy seas the Steilacoom II has cancelled the
11:15 a.m. departure from Port Townsend and the noon from Keystone on Whidbey Island. Updates will occur when conditions change, according
to a Washington State Ferries news release.
Motorists on Whidbey Island who don’t want to wait can proceed to the Clinton to Mukilteo ferry, then take the Edmonds ferry to Kingston.
Winds in the Oak Harbor area are listed at 25 miles per hour at accuweather.com. It’s even windier closer to the ferry dock in
Coupeville at 32 miles per hours. The winds are coming from the south/
southeast.
Rain is predicted to start early this afternoon but the temperature
remains mild at 50 degrees.
