Wildcats, Wolves ready to roll

The football seasons at Oak Harbor and Coupeville kicked off last night but for the majority of the teams at both schools, competition in 2006 begins next week.

The Lady Wildcats volleyball squad hosts the Oak Harbor Jamboree today and its first league match is on Wednesday at Cascade in Everett.

The Coupeville net squad is at Chimacum on Wednesday for a 3:30 p.m. match.

The Oak Harbor girls swimming team is also participating in a jamboree at Marysville Pilchuck on Sept. 5, competing in the 4A North Division Jamboree beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Lady Wolves’ soccer team is also at Chimacum on Wednesday afternoon, while the Oak Harbor girls host Cascade at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday. The junior varsity games kicks off at 5 p.m. and the varsity matchup will begin around 7 p.m.

Oak Harbor’s boys and girls cross country teams will run in the Oak Harbor Scavenger Hunt, a non-official meet, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Fort Casey.

The Wildcats’ boys tennis team has a home match scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Tuesday against Cascade.
