Meadowdale narrowly edged the Oak Harbor volleyball team in a thrilling match at Oak Harbor High School Thursday.
The Mavericks pulled out the 3-2 win by coming back from a 2-1 deficit, 24-26, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 15-9.
Wildcat coach Kerri Molitor said, “It was two evenly matched teams. They had a stronger offense, and we had the stronger defense.” She added, “The fans had a great game to watch.”
Amanda Blau recorded 10 kills and six blocks for the Wildcats. Janessa Ramos added nine kills. Melany Cone handed out 33 assists, served three aces, and was 27-27 serving. Katelyn Bristow had 32 digs and was 23-23 serving. Kelsey Terrazas-Cooley had 34 digs and three aces.
Oak Harbor has a bye Tuesday, then it goes to Monroe to take on the state ranked Bearcats next Thursday.
