Just like the boys team, Mells said he has to put together three doubles teams and right now, the he is trying to make a decision who the players will be.

“I have 40 girls out for the team including a lot of freshmen, so I have a number of players that I need to look at,” he said.

These players include senior Katie Wiggins and juniors Janelle Green and Mia Flores.

New players working hard to earn a varsity position are sophomores Clarissa Abadesco and Jordan Faralan.

“Doubles is going to be the big question mark for us and we have a lot of work to do in that area,” Mells said. “I’m looking for a successful season, but it is going to be tough, though.”

Oak Harbor began WesCo North play Tuesday, March 17, hosting Monroe in a 3:45 p.m. match.
