If you come up with a specific need in this community, there’s probably already a nonprofit focused on that particular project.

Whether it’s providing financial assistance with medical needs, feeding the hungry or making sure Coupeville’s streets flourish with flowers, people in Central Whidbey like to help where they can.

This weekend, the Town of Coupeville will partner with Coupeville Farmer’s Market and Coupeville Library to provide information about many of those nonprofits in a single location.

The Central Whidbey Nonprofit Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the Coupeville Community Green behind the library.

Nonprofits will have information booths set up in coordination with the market and workshops will be held in library meeting room.

Workshops include how to market your nonprofit, the cost of color printing and no-cost websites for nonprofits.

While at the fair don’t forget to stop by the Coupeville Lions Club booth where Lions will be selling tickets the club’s annual salmon barbecue, which happens the next day.

Join the Lions noon to 1:30 p.m. at Town Park for the grand feast. Tickets are $20.

Coupeville Lions are one of two Lions Clubs in Central Whidbey that provide a lot of support in the community. All proceeds from the groups’ various events all go back into the community through various charitable projects.

Following the barbecue will be a special concert sponsored by Town of Coupeville and Concerts on the Cove. Microsoft Jumpin’ Jive Orchestra will be performing.

Also remember that during the nonprofit fair Saturday at noon, residents will gather for the Coupeville Community Portrait, which will be featured on our “I love Coupeville” page in next week’s Examiner.
