Due to a crisis in my neighborhood, we were evacuated by the police and sequestered at the Rec Hall in Coupeville. The volunteers of the Red Cross stepped in and took over. They provided cots and blankets for sleeping and stuffed animals for the children to sleep with. These kind people also provided food, lots of hot coffee and cocoa.

They also provided themselves, as they stayed with us for comfort and support right to the very end when we could go home. I will never forget this kindness and generosity to all of us. Because of this, those of us at the Tyee Mobile Home Park stand, salute and applaud all those wonderful volunteers of the Red Cross.
