Washington’s Most Wanted, the FOX TV program, is airing a story on the unsolved murder of Deborah Palmer this Friday and Saturday.

At the same time, the Oak Harbor police are ramping up an effort to raise funds for the Deborah Palmer Reward Fund, which would go to an individual who provides information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in the murder. The fund is currently at $3,640, but the police hopes the community will give to make it more enticing to someone with information.

People can donate to the reward fund at Wells Fargo Bank, at Oak Harbor City Hall or at the police department.

Parella Lewis of Washington’s Most Wanted was in Oak Harbor Tuesday doing interviews for a segment on Deborah Palmer, who was 7 years old when she was murdered in 1997.

The show airs on Q13 at 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. For anyone with MyQ2 through Comcast, it will also be on at 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

Detective Sgt. Teri Gardner restarted the investigation into the murder in the hopes that new DNA technology, a fresh set of eyes or possibly media exposure can crack the case.
