No injuries were reported as a result of a two-car collision Wednesday afternoon in Oak Harbor.

While heading south on Southeast Midway Boulevard, Timothy Stone struck the side of Megan McConnell’s car after she allegedly went through a stop sign on Southeast Sixth Avenue, according to police reports.

When the two cars collided, the airbags in Stone’s vehicle deployed, and there was damage to the front end of his car.

Damage to McConnell’s care was limited to a dent in the back left door, said police officer Jennifer Yzaguirre.

McConnell’s car was “still drivable,” said Yzaguirre, but Stone’s car was towed from the scene.

McConnell was driving with her infant in the car. She declined medical attention for her and her child, said Yzaguirre.

Yzaguirre and fellow Oak Harbor police officer Manny Silveira responded to the accident.

According to Yzaguirre, McConnell told the officers she’d never been on the road before and didn’t notice the stop sign.

“She’ll get a failed to stop at a stop sign infraction,” Yzaguirre said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be involved.
