Coupeville High School athletes qualified for the finals in two events in the state 1A track meet after the preliminary round Friday, May 24, at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

Madison Tisa-McPhee posted the third-best time in the 100 hurdles, 16.75, to earn a spot in the finals.

She joined Jai’Lysa Hoskins, Sylvia Hurlburt and Makana Stone to reach the finals in the 4×200, grabbing the eighth and last berth with a 1:49.06.

Tisa-McPhee missed the finals in the 300 hurdles, running 12th in 49.91.

The 4×100 team of Hoskins, Hurlburt, Stone and Marisa Etzell also failed to make the finals, finishing 11th in the preliminaries in 52.09.

The finals are today, May 25. The 4×200 team takes the track at 10:14 a.m., and Tisa-McPhee runs the hurdles at 11 a.m.
