Tides presentation set for Oct. 20

Phyllis Woolwine, president and lead instructor of Shearwater University, will deliver a presentation Wednesday, Oct. 20 at the America’s Boating Club of Deception Pass monthly meeting.

The club is inviting Whidbey and Fidalgo island community members to join virtually to hear the presentation, entitled “The Tides and Currents of the Salish Sea.”

A brief business meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m., and Woolwine will deliver her presentation at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Robert McCrary at rmccrary09@gmail.com. A Zoom link to the virtual meeting will be emailed to guests beforehand.

The America’s Boating Club of Deception Pass is a 44-year-old nonprofit, comprised of 80 members from Whidbey and Fidalgo islands. Shearwater University is a maritime education facility in Anacortes that teachers sailing, kayaking, powerboating and navigation.
