An 18-year-old Freeland man is facing a felony charge for allegedly sending a threatening text to a teenage girl, according to court documents.
Prosecutors charged Dylan J. Michalopoulos in Island County Superior Court Dec. 1 with felony harassment.
A 15-year-old girl reported receiving threatening and somewhat nonsensical texts from Michalopoulos that stated “swear to god on my dead homies life that I will make sure your decomposing in a barrel with two bullets in between your eyes” and “everybody gonna hear you a snitch and hate you I promise, you’ll be bullied till you kill yourself,” according to a deputy’s report.
The girl said she was frightened by the texts, which made her cry.
When contacted by a deputy, Michalopoulos admitted to sending the texts and said he felt horrible and that it was a really big mistake. He said he was upset because he thought that the victim had started a rumor about his girlfriend using drugs, the report states.
If convicted of the charge against him, Michalopoulos could face from one to three months in jail under the standard sentencing range.
