Tennis: Oak Harbor rolls by Royals

Evening its record at 3-3, the Oak Harbor tennis team thumped Lynnwood 7-0 on the Wildcats’ courts Friday, March 25.

All four Oak Harbor singles players won easily, led by Cady O’Dell who blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles.

Belen Cifuentes won 6-2, 6-0 in second singles; Clarissa Abadesco rolled 6-1, 6-1 in third singles; and Shannon Neilon was victorious 6-3, 6-3 in fourth singles.

The No. 1 doubles match was the day’s closest as Oak Harbor’s Jordan Faralan and Alexa Holmly came back for a 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-3 win.

In second doubles, Shoko Yamaguchi and Cassandra Gianino won 6-3, 6-3; and Kelli Travenetti and Jennifer Fremd took third doubles 6-0, 6-2.

Lynnwood remains winless in four matches.

The Wildcats (3-3, 2-2) take on Shorecrest (3-1, 2-0) Tuesday, April 5, in Oak Harbor at 3:30 p.m.
