State parks seeking volunteers for Admiralty Head Lighthouse

Washington State Parks is looking for Whidbey Island residents with a passion for lighthouses who’d like to volunteer in one.

Washington State Parks is looking for Whidbey Island residents with a passion for lighthouses who’d like to volunteer in one.

Volunteer docents are needed at Admiralty Head Lighthouse in Coupeville.

The needs include interpretive greeters who’d like to share knowledge with the public about the historic lighthouse, cashiers in the gift shop or those who’d like to help with the building’s preservation.

Admiralty Head Lighthouse, located at Fort Casey State Park, is more than a century old.

Volunteer shifts start in March when the lighthouse is open from 11 a.m.to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The shifts are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2-5 p.m.
