New boxing club opens in Oak Harbor

Whidbey Boxing, a new club for island pugilists, is now in operation at 2949 Goldie Rd. unit H-2.

Ring training is offered for juniors ages 8 through 17 as well as adults.

Affiliated with USA Boxing, the governing arm of Olympic Boxing in the United States, the club is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday for the junior program.

Right now, there are about 20 kids signed up for the junior program.

North Whidbey Little League is accepting in-person registrations for baseball and softball players from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today, Saturday, Jan. 24, at North Whidbey Middle School.
