Tryouts for the Skagit Valley Vipers U-14 softball team will be held Sunday, Aug. 3, and Sunday, Aug. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Burlington-Edison High School softball field.

This is the second year for the team and coach Jeff Jacobson said there are several positions open and he is seeking players.

Doubles tourney in Langley

An open doubles tennis tournament for men, women and mixed teams will be held Aug. 15 to 17 on the tennis courts at South Whidbey High School.

The cost to enter is $15 per player.

Entry forms can be picked up at the South Whidbey Parks and Recreation office, the tennis courts at Coupeville High School and also the South Whidbey High School tennis courts.

Register for CWSC soccer

The Central Whidbey Soccer Club is accepting registrations through Aug. 15 for the fall leagues.

The cost for U-6 and U-8 players is $50 and players on U-10 through U-16 pay $65. Families can receive a $10 discount per child after the first registrant.

Registrations will be accepted after Aug. 15, but with an additional $25 late fee charged.

Spaces are limited for U-12 and above teams, so register now to reserve your place on a team.

NWTA offers soccer camps

The Northwest Training Academy is offering a series of summer soccer camps at Fort Nugent Park.

The soccer camp is Aug. 4 to 7 at a cost of $55 per player.

This camp is for everyone of any and all skill levels. There will be two separate sessions run for this camp.

Session 1 — 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Session 2 — 5 to 6:15 p.m.

The goalkeeper I camp is Aug. 11 to 13 at a cost of $55.

Basic and advanced training will be offered for all skill levels. There will also be two separate sessions for this camp.
