The Littlejohn sisters, Mia and Kalia, of Coupeville and Malia Hansen of Oak Harbor are hoping to play soccer this summer in Spain.

The trio compete for the Northwest United U15 premier team, which is based out of Burlington.

The club has been invited to play in San Sebastian, Spain, July 6-11 in the Donosti Cup, which will feature 350 teams from nearly 20 countries.

To make the trip, the Whidbey players need to meet the financial obligation required for the journey.

So far they have held a raffle, Hansen said, and donations are being accepted at www.gofundme.com/whidbey-spain

Next up is a dinner, fittingly with a Spanish theme, at the Coupeville Recreation Hall at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24.
