Sheriff’s office releases images of armed-robbery suspect

The Island County Sheriff’s Office released images of the suspect in a Halloween-night robbery.

The photos were taken from surveillance video at Naomi’s Gas Station in Clinton, where the armed robber struck Tuesday at about 9:45 p.m. The video can be seen on the sheriff’s Facebook page.

Those with information about the identity of the suspect are asked to contact the Island Sheriff’s Office via the ICOM dispatch center at 360-679-9567 or via Tips@co.island.wa.us

The suspect, a medium built 5-foot-8 Hispanic male with short dark hair and a thin mustache, entered the gas station wearing a black stocking cap, gray sweatshirt, light colored gloves, light blue sweatpants and glasses, the sheriff’s office reported.

The man brandished a long barreled revolver and demanded the clerk put the cash from the register in a bag. The suspect left the gas station on foot in the direction of Langley Road.

Detective Ed Wallace declined to release how much was taken from the register, also adding that further information was limited. Wallace also said there have been no previous robberies by a suspect who matches the description.
