Whidbey News Group, publisher of the Whidbey News-Times, South Whidbey Record and The Whidbey Examiner, is accepting entries now for a new Whidbey Island Community Cookbook.

This keepsake collection of recipes shared by residents will be presented in a spiral-bound cookbook. A limited edition of 1,000 copies will be produced and given to Whidbey Island Habitat for Humanity this fall to sell as a special fundraiser.

Share recipes young and old reflecting the local flavor of our abundant island.

Have a favorite recipe for cooking Penn Cove’s famous mussels?

How about a recipe utilizing the island’s sweet and juicy strawberries or much loved loganberries?

If you’re classic Oak Harbor Dutch, how about sharing your favorite Olle Bollin recipe?

No recipe is too big or too small.
