The Greenbank Farm Management Group is establishing a search committee to find a new executive director for the publicly owned farm.

The committee, which was designed to reflect a variety of interests and regions of Whidbey Island, consists of Claire Creighton, Mary Kay Chess, Fran Einterz, Elizabeth Guss, Donna Keeler, Jan Whitsitt, Mary Jo Stansbury and Maryon Attwood.

Keeler will head up the search committee, according to a news release from the Greenbank Farm. She facilitated the the public process for the Greenbank Farm master plan, which was adopted in 2009.

“We are pleased to have the benefit of the experience and talents of the search committee to guide us as we establish new leadership at the farm,” Stansbury said. “The committee wil help us broaden the geographic reach of the farm from Oak Harbor to Coupeville to Langley.”

The Management Group’s vision will emphasize community outreach and relationship building as the farm seeks to build programs and connections with the Whidbey island community in sustainable agriculture, agriculture training, environmental protection, preservation and stewardship and renewable energy.

In keeping with that mission, the core of the executive director’s position will become one based on strong nonprofit leadership, experience and skills, according to the news release.
