School: Family Fun night was a success

Tuesday evening was filled with fun at the first Family Fun Night held at North Whidbey Middle School!

Tuesday evening was filled with fun at the first Family Fun Night held at North Whidbey Middle School! Over 140 students, parents, sisters, and brothers came together to share pizza, meet each other, and have a lot of fun. The evening was organized by the Student Assistance Program within the middle school, which is a part of the Oak Harbor Coalition. One of the goals of the coalition is to reduce the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco by kids. This can happen through communication with kids, and communication is what was needed at this fun night. Together, families built towers out of nothing more than newspaper, masking tape, creativity, and ingenuity. The goal was to get towers to stand that were at least two feet tall. All the families accomplished that with ease, and continued working on towers that reached more than 10 feet tall. A big congratulations goes to all those involved including the school, students and parents. We will all be looking forward to the next Family Fun Night challenge!
