We will vote no on the school bond issue again! I would like to encourage others to do the same. We have said no to this before and we will continue to say no.
I am amazed at the different alternative methods people have come up with for the needed work at our high school. You must think I am stupid (Webster’s dictionary — deficient in perception and understanding) and also the people of Oak Harbor for continuing to present this issue to us year after year in a different package.
You go from stages of remodeling to a brand new high school (oops, that’s a renovation for $45 million). Please folks, if we can do something for our future vote no on the school bond levy! The newest motto is think outside the box. Where can more taxes come from than just the property owners?
Remember a tax or levy is the act of raising money to support governmental needs or pay for public works and the like. Let’s think outside the box. I just got an idea. Let every person (child or adult) in Oak Harbor pay $10 a month for the high school that is so badly needed, then we can all say together for about the next 10 years “I can’t afford that and that’s not fair.”
