SAR completes Med Evac in Port Angeles

A Search and Rescue team from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island conducted a medical evacuation around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, according to a press release.

The six-member crew received an early-morning call for a male suffering from an abdominal aortic aneurysm at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles. The crew launched at 3:45 a.m., conducted patient turnover and proceeded to Harborview Medical Center.

This was the 22nd medical evacuation of 2017 for NAS Whidbey Island SAR, which has also conducted seven searches and 36 rescue missions, delivering 72 lives to a higher level of care.
