Santa visits Central Whidbey and Oak Harbor

Instead of riding a sleigh, Santa Claus will be riding a big red fire engine. Santa Claus will be visiting Central Whidbey Island in the coming days. He will join firefighters from Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue to hand out fire prevention information and candy canes to kids and homeowners.

Santa Claus will be visiting Central Whidbey Island in the coming days. He will join firefighters from Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue to hand out fire prevention information and candy canes to kids and homeowners.

They will be in the following neighborhoods starting at 5:30 p.m.

•Wednesday, Dec. 9: South Main Street side of Coupeville and Crockett Lake.

•Saturday, Dec. 12: Parker Road, Long Point, Rhodena, Harrington.

• Monday, Dec. 14: Ledgewood, Bon Air, Teronda.

•Wednesday, Dec. 16: Holmes Harbor, North Bluff.

•Thursday, Dec. 17: Lagoon Point, Honeymoon Bay.

•Tuesday, Dec. 22: Race Road, Shangri La, Admirals Cove.

Santa will also be appearing in downtown Oak Harbor at Harborside Village, formerly Old Town Mall.

Hours are Saturday, Dec. 12, 3 to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m; Friday, Dec. 18, 3 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 19, 3 to 7 p.m. (he’s bringing his fire truck); Sunday, Dec. 20, 10 to 2 p.m.; Monday, Dec. 21, 4 to 8 p.m.; and Tuesday, Dec. 22, 4 to 8 p.m., when he will be joined in caroling by the Oak Harbor High School Choir.
