Get up with the sun on Easter
The Oak Harbor Kiwanis Club invites the community to its 21st annual Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 24. The speaker this year will be Don Jaques, pastor of Christ King Church, with special music by Lance Gibbon. A free will offering will be taken for the benefit of the local Help House. The nondenominational service will be held at Windjammer Park near the windmill. Bleachers are not available for seating; attendees are welcome to bring their own folding chairs. In case of inclement weather, the location will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at 105 SE Ireland St.

Easter season in Coupeville
The Coupeville United Methodist Church invites the community to services throughout the Easter season. The church choir will perform a cantata for the Palm Sunday service on April 17. On April 21 a traditional Holy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m., featuring an encore of the cantata by the popular choir. Sunrise service will be held at the beautiful Sunnyside Cemetery overlooking Ebey’s Prairie and Puget Sound at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 24, followed by a complimentary breakfast at the church. Nazarene makes its Easter plans
Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene, 1100 West Whidbey Avenue, announces its Easter scheduled. Good Friday service will be April 22 at 6 p.m.; Easter brunch April 24 at 9:30 a.m.; followed by an Easter Celebration at 10:30 a.m. An egg hunt will immediately follow the celebration service. Grace Orthodox hosts breakfast
Sovereign Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church will be hosting an Easter morning breakfast Sunday, April 24, at 9 a.m. The delicious breakfast will be followed by our Easter morning worship service which begins at 10:30. All visitors are welcome. Sovereign Grace OPC meets at the Seventh Day Adventist Church building located at 31830 SR 20, Oak Harbor, near Home Depot.

‘Two Faces in the Shadows’
Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St, will hold a special Good Friday service presentation of “Two Faces in the Shadows” on April 22 at 7:30 p.m.  Pair o’ ‘Postles (Mark Adolph as Simon Peter, and Leonard Kannapell as Judas Iscariot) remember and discuss the events of the Passion in a dramatic dialogue between Simon Peter and Judas Iscariot. Ministering to each other
Rev. Bill Graves will consider the idea that we all need to be ministers to each other, encouraging each other’s spiritual growth, Sunday, April 17, at 10 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, off Highway 525 just north of Freeland. Graves is consulting minister to the Tahoma UU Congregation in Tacoma. Concordia Lutheran’s Easter season slate

Concordia Lutheran Church, 590 N. Oak Harbor Road, Oak Harbor, hosts its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. Lenten Worship continues April 20, at 6:30 p.m., preceded by Soup Supper from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Holy Week, April 17 to 23, worship includes:  Palm Sunday Service, at 10 a.m., Maundy Thursday Service, Good Friday Tenebrae Service, both at 6:30 p.m., and Easter Saturday Vigil, at 8 p.m. Easter Sunday Celebration, April 24, begins with Easter Breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by Easter worship at 10:00 a.m. Call 675-2548 or email concordiastaff@frontier.com.
