Public invited to view Coupeville’s National History Day project

Local history buffs will have a chance to view a student’s entry into the National History Day competition with a community night scheduled next week. Coupeville High School junior Heni Barnes produced a 10-minute documentary about the Pacific Northwest Lumber Strike, which took place in 1917 throughout Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana.

Local history buffs will have a chance to view a student’s entry into the National History Day competition with a community night scheduled next week.

Coupeville High School junior Heni Barnes produced a 10-minute documentary about the Pacific Northwest Lumber Strike, which took place in 1917 throughout Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana.

The community night includes a viewing of the documentary and her 42-page bibliography will be available too.

The event takes place at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 29 at the Coupeville Public Library on Alexander Street.

The National History Day competition takes place June 9-13 in College Park, Md.
