Pre-registration for kindergarten at Coupeville Elementary School starts Monday, March 18, and continues through June 21.

Eligible children must be age 5 by Aug. 31, 2019.

Paperwork is available at the elementary school office.

Registration requirements include a copy of your child’s birth certificate and proof of immunization.

Minimum vaccines required for school attendance include four doses of DTP provided the last dose was given on or after the fourth birthday; three doses of Polio vaccine (OPV or IPV) provided the last dose was given on or after he fourth birthday; two doses of MMR given on or after the first birthday; three doses of HepB vaccine; and two doses of Varicella vaccine on or after the first birthday or the date the child had chicken pox.

Kindergarten staff will be conducting a Whole Child Assessment of each prospective kindergarten student to help measure student knowledge, skills and behaviors.

The school will be conducting sessions of this assessment at the following times:

• 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18,

• 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, April 26

• 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, May 24

The school has space for 15 students and their parent(s) at each session. The school requests parents not bring siblings to this appointment.
