Police continue to work with federal investigators on the disappearance of a 15-year-old Oak Harbor girl named Elaine Sepulveda.

Capt. Rick Wallace with the Oak Harbor Police said the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab is analyzing a portion of the evidence that FBI crime scene investigators collected from a S.E. Glencoe Avenue house last Friday. The residence is home to an 18-year-old high school student who was the last person to see Sepulveda after she sneaked out of her home early in the morning of Nov. 6.

Police organized another search of the dense woods off Regatta Avenue Sunday. Wallace said about 30 volunteers scoured the area, which is near the Navy’s Saratoga Heights housing where Sepulveda lives with her family. This was the fourth major search effort in the woods.

Wallace said searchers didn’t find anything related to the girl’s disappearance.

Wallace said police detectives, special agents with the Navy Criminal Investigative Service and the FBI are “looking into other things” as they wait for the results from the state lab.
