Piazzon will be strong voice

Seeing the many signs posted around town in support of candidates for the upcoming Coupeville elections makes me especially glad to live here. Coupeville residents care about good representative government. We also care about retaining the qualities that make Coupeville a wonderful place to live and to visit. For this reason, I support the candidacy of Gary Piazzon for town council.

Coupeville is special because it retains a rural atmosphere and historic beauty. It is a treat for tourists to walk down Front Street and view scenic Penn Cove while visiting shops and restaurants. This treasured quality can only become more and more important as populations increase everywhere and growth is valued over conservation. We need a voice on the Town Council that more strongly represents those of us who want to see Coupeville continue to retain its special qualities. For this to happen, we must do everything we can to prevent non-water related development on Front Street, maintain a viable rural buffer, and increase our vigilance over historic and environmental preservation. Allowing intrusion in any of these areas will only result in diminishing the reasons people love to visit Coupeville (bringing revenue to the town) and the reasons we all love to live here. Gary can be that strong voice for us.
