The scenario was simple, the situation wasn’t.
With a win the Oak Harbor boys could avoid their first ever recorded winless season.
Unfortunately for the Wildcats, to get that task done they had to defeat a Marysville-Pilchuck team vying for a number one playoff seed in a hostile environment on the road.
It appeared OHHS was up to the task through the first three quarters, but an offensive explosion from the Tomahawks in the fourth quarter sealed a 74-53 victory and a top seed for Marysville.
Down just 45-42 going into the fourth quarter, the Wildcats couldn’t keep pace with a Tomahawk offense that put in 29 points. Sophomore Jared Stohl led the charge, nailing three three point shots.
Marc Ferguson put in an engergized performance in his final game as a Wildcat, scoring a game-high 27 points.
The loss left Oak Harbor at 0-16 in the WesCo North and 0-20 overall.
