PEOPLE & PLACES: Passion for motorcycles drives Oak Harbor grad

Kevin Carman on his award-winning motorcycle that he designed and built. He has entered the vehicle in four shows: Oak Harbor, Bayview, Bellingham and Arlington. His picture and motorcycle is on page 50 of the November 2002 issue of Thunderbird Press. Kevin is the son of Bruce and Irene Carman of Oak Harbor and graduated from Oak Harbor High School.

Tree of Hope is a huge project for Oak Harbor’s Venture Club. They were flooded with requests this year and had to use some of their service money to be sure all the children received gifts. There were more than 450 children’s names for this year’s Tree of Hope.

Henry C. King has enlisted in the United States Army as a petroleum supply specialists and leaves for basic training at Fort Knox, Ky., Jan. 8. He says he joined the Army to serve his country and earn more money. King is a 1988 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and is the son of Shirley Fay and stepson of Murrel Fay of Lynnwood. He is married to Erin King whose parents are Gerald and Winiferd Skaare of Oak Harbor.
