The Island County budget director recently presented commissioners with a worrisome five-year budget projection that shows reserve funds dwindling to levels that could create cash flow problems in just a year or two.
The Oak Harbor Lutheran Watoto Team is at it again. The group of about 11 adventurous volunteers from the Lutheran Church, First United Methodist Church and Saint Stephen’s Anglican will travel to Uganda for the third consecutive year to work with the Watoto Childcare Ministries, an organization that provides residential care for orphaned and vulnerable children.
The old North Whidbey Help House produce stand is no longer. In its place is a brand-new, three-sided stand complete with a roof, a cement floor and metal shelving.
