A 45-year-old sex offender is living homeless in Oak Harbor.
The Island County Sheriff’s Office recently rated Brent Decker as a Level 2 sex offender, which means he is considered a moderate risk to the community.
Decker pleaded guilty in King County Superior Court in 1990 to the third-degree rape of an adult woman.
On Dec. 15, 2006, Decker was booked into the Island County jail on a King County bench warrant related to a drunk driving charge. He was also wanted on a non-extraditeable warrant in another state for failing to register as a sex offender.
Investigators discovered that Decker had been living homeless on South Whidbey without notifying the Sheriff’s Office, according to the public notification. He was cited for failure to register as a sex offender.
Decker is now homeless and living inside the city of Oak Harbor. He is required to report weekly to the Sheriff’s Office.
Decker is trying to find permanent housing on Whidbey Island while performing day labor, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Decker, also known as Kevin McIntosh, is described as a white man, five-foot-eleven, 175 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. He is not wanted by law enforcement.
