Two pigs have been paying Diane Rusher’s house a visit, and they’ve been behaving like … well, pigs.
The Oak Harbor woman said she first spotted the porky pair about three weeks ago outside her Silver Lake area home. Since then they’ve made her property their personal piggy party pad.
The rogue swine chomped plants in flower pots, knocked over outdoor lights and lolled around in the yard.
“I’ve tried to shoo them away,” Rusher said. “They’ll just go somewhere and come back.”
The two pigs appear to weigh around 50 pounds each.
One of the pigs is white with dark spots and the other is brown.
Like that friend your mother warned you about, one of the pigs seems to be the instigator of trouble.
“They are definitely buds,” she said.
“The white one is the leader. The other one follows.”
Rusher has maintained her sense of humor about her visitors, although she admits sometimes she looks at those pigs and thinks: pork chops.
Rusher said she would like the owner of the pigs to please put them back in their pen.
So does Island County animal control.
The pigs remain loose in the area. If you know where the pigs belong, Animal Control Officer Carol Barnes would like you to call 360-679-9567.
“Be responsible and put them where they need to be,” Rusher said.
