An Oak Harbor man is accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl who was at his home visiting with other children, according to court documents.

Myron T. James, 33, pleaded not guilty in Island County Superior Court March 26 with child molestation in the third degree.

A special agent with Naval Criminal Investigative Services investigated the case after the girl reported it to her parents this year.

The molestation allegedly occurred last September at a home on base housing.

The victim reported that she went over to see some friends at the home. She said James pulled her into his lap and started to grind himself against her and touched her breasts over her clothing, NCIS reported.

James’ wife is in the Navy and was deployed at the time, the report states.

During an interview with NCIS, James allegedly admitted the molestation and said the girl tried to get away and he pulled her back, the report states.

James also said he later tried to get the girl to talk to him in his car because he wanted to apologize, the agent wrote.
