Oak Harbor man accused of threatening DQ

A 22-year-old man is being held in jail for threatening to shoot up Oak Harbor’s Dairy Queen.

A 22-year-old man is being held in jail for threatening to shoot up Oak Harbor’s Dairy Queen restaurant in December, according to court documents.

Prosecutors charged Kevin T. Deese in Island County Superior Court Feb. 6 with threat to bomb or injure property, misdemeanor harassment and felony harassment.

According to a police report, Deese was fired from the restaurant but returned on Dec. 27. He allegedly went to the counter, ordered food and threatened to beat the manager and “shoot up the place,” the report states.

Deese also suggested that another employee was going to be jumped and threatened to throw dog poop at the windows, the report states.

Police officers also found SnapChat videos in which Deese ranted erratically and challenged his former manager to a fight, a report states.

A judge in superior court set Deese’s bail at $2,500.

In addition, a judge in district court set Deese’s bail at $1,000 in a case in which he was charged with disclosing intimate images and assault.
