The Oak Harbor Legion A baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-1 nonleague loss at Sedro-Woolley Tuesday, July 12.

Next up for Oak Harbor is the district tournament which starts Wednesday, July 20. The tournament has been moved from Skagit Valley College to Mount Vernon’s Sherman Anderson Field.

Bellingham (10-2), the season-long leader in the league standings, lost earlier this week and Oak Harbor (12-2) moved into first-place.  Bellingham has two league games left (Oak Harbor is finished); if the two teams tie for first, Bellingham will receive the top seed in district because it defeated the Wildcats twice this summer.

If Oak Harbor earns the top district seed, it will play at 7 p.m. July 20. If it gets the No. 2 seed, it will play at 4:30. As of now, Oak Harbor will play either Burlington #1 or Anacortes.

In the loss to Sedro-Woolley, Oak Harbor (16-13) collected only four hits, hit into two double plays and left eight men on base.

Andrew Snavely, Ben Etzell, Anthony Stewart and Jack Richter had the Wildcat hits.
