Six Oak Harbor athletes competing for the Bellingham Bay Swim Club participated in the October Challenge Oct. 12 and 13 in Bellingham.

Maira Sulin, 12, led the way for the Oak Harbor group, placing second in all four swims: 50-yard freestyle, 28.61; 50 butterfly, 31.88; 200 fly, 2:35.36; and 400 individual medley, 5:14.86.

She swam two personal records, met the Pacific Northwest Swimming gold standard in three of the races and met the PNS championship cut time in the 200 fly.
