Navy addition is all in the family

Lt. Cmdrs. Lisa L. and Alex J. Grosso, Jr., MSC, USN/RET, of Coupeville announce the fourth generation enlistment in the U.S. Navy of their son, Hospitalman Apprentice Peter Andreas Grosso, on May 6. Grosso’s enlistment was followed in succession by graduations from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., on June 27, 2008, Hospital Corps “A” School, Great Lakes, on Oct. 29, 2008 and most recently Fleet Marine Force Training, Field Medical Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 13.

Grosso’s enlistment was followed in succession by graduations from Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., on June 27, 2008, Hospital Corps “A” School, Great Lakes, on Oct. 29, 2008 and most recently Fleet Marine Force Training, Field Medical Training Battalion, Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 13. Following successful completion of Casualty Trauma Management training, Grosso joined the 1st Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment at Twentynine Palms, Calif., as a second generation Navy Corpsman on their recent return from a Gulf deployment.

Grosso is the grandson of ATC Leif “Pete” Andreas Pedersen, USN/RET (K7OH) and the late Betty Grace Pedersen of Oak Harbor. He is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. His mother, LCDR Lisa (Pedersen) Grosso MSC, USN/RET is a 1972 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and a 1973 graduate of Hospital Corps “A” School, Great Lakes, IL.
