The Island County Historical Society is hosting a 50th anniversary dance party in honor of the first 50 years of the Coupeville Arts and Crafts Festival 7-11 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at the Coupeville Recreation Hall.

The dance party will kick off the 50th Anniversary of the festival with fun dance music provided by the Deception Connection.

The Island County History Museum will be cooking up their famous “Prairie Dog” sausages on a bun, and beverages will be offered.

A fun raffle will also be featured.

“We hope folks will bring some of their favorite festival stories to share,” said Rick Castellano, museum director. “We’re asking everyone to dress like it’s 1964, so it should be a fun party.”

The festival started in 1964 and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Cover for the event is $20 per person, with proceeds to benefit the programs and operations of the Island County Museum.
