Man hurt, airlifted after head-on crash

One Oak Harbor man is in a hospital and another is in jail following a head-on crash Thursday night.

One Oak Harbor man is in a Seattle hospital with serious injuries and another is sitting in jail following a head-on crash on North Whidbey Thursday night.

Just after 11 p.m. March 30, Westyn Sillavan, age 22, was driving north on Highway 20 in a Ford Explorer when he crossed the centerline, colliding with an oncoming Cadillac ATS driven by 39-year-old Marc Davis, according to a Washington State Patrol report. Both vehicles came to a rest blocking the roadway.

Davis was injured and airlifted from the scene to Harborview Medical Center. Traffic was temporarily blocked while emergency personnel responded to the accident.

Davis was in critical condition in the ICU at Harborview Friday morning.

Sillavan was taken into custody and held in Island County jail on suspicion of vehicular assault.

According to the State Patrol report, drugs or alcohol were a likely factor in the accident. The cause was still under investigation as of Friday morning.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
