The anonymous donor who provided 30 brand new iMacs to Oak Harbor High School’s video program recently gave even more.

He bought an additional 17 iMacs for the school’s graphic design program.

After teacher Chris Douthitt installed the iMacs in his video class, the former computers were moved to Paula Ottenbreit’s graphic design class.

“The guy who donated the equipment said, ‘This doesn’t seem right. Chris has brand new ones and these kids don’t,’” district spokesperson Joe Hunt said.

New iMacs cost about $1,500 a piece. The computers are located in the new Career and Technical building.

When asked why he was donating to the program, he told Hunt, “I could leave money to a scholarship fund and impact a few students each year or put money into a classroom now and impact hundreds of kids a year.”

The donations added up to over $70,000.
