Lions club hosts scholarship auction

The Lions Club scholarship auction returns Feb. 25 at the Oak Harbor Elks Club.

Coupeville Lions President Sandee Allen announced the return of the scholarship auction on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Oak Harbor Elks Club.

This year’s event is resuming after a two-year pandemic hiatus and will feature dinner catered by prominent area chef, Andreas Wurzrainer, as well as a lively auction of exciting experiences conducted by auctioneer Dale Sherman.

This scholarship auction will continue the 17-year tradition of supporting Coupeville area school seniors who wish to further their education with $30,000 of scholarships per year funded through the Lions. Allen praised the Coupeville community for stepping up during the pandemic to continue to support students even without a live event.

All the proceeds of the action will go towards 2023 scholarships. Tickets are available on the club’s website, www.CoupevilleLions.org. For those unable to attend, donations to the scholarship fund may also be made through this website.
