Levies provide what students need

My opinion on the renewal of the current levy is, yes let it pass! Without the levy, the school district will have to cut $2.4 million from the budget over a two-year period. This would not be good because the school district is already slowly losing teachers and staff, and what’s offered to students as in classes and supplies.

I am a current senior at Oak Harbor High School and Midway High School and over the past 4 years at OHHS, I’ve seen how the school has slowly crumbled, some classes have disappeared, supplies are lessening, and the need for teachers isn’t being filled.

The past year at MHS has been one of the best, I’m thoroughly grateful for this school and teachers, if they were not here I probably would not graduate.

The district needs this money for the further education of the Oak Harbor children.

If the levy does not pass, the need for teachers at OHHS will definitely not be filled, but more teacher positions will be lost, and all students at OHHS will feel the effect of the lack of supplies in classes. MHS’s budget will be impacted too, making even fewer opportunities for kids.

When it comes to voting I will for sure be checking yes!
