Election night winners Nov. 8 held on to their leads as more votes were counted in Island County over the past week.
There were two seats up for election on the Oak Harbor School Board. Corey Johnson is easily outpacing his opponent Brien Lillquist for the seat being vacated by Kathy Chalfant, who decided not to run for reelection. Johnson leads 4,996 to 1,480 through Monday.
In the other race, incumbent Gary Wallin leads his opponent, Bill Burnett, 4,468 votes to 2,055.
In the one contested race for Coupeville School Board. Cindy Van Dyk is leading incumbent Mitchell Howard 1,377 to 1,257.
Incumbent Kristy Lang Miller is leading David Marshall for the hospital board seat. She earned 7,881 votes while Marshall earned 4,831.
For the one contested seat on the Oak Harbor City Council, incumbent Sheilah Crider has 1,638 votes to 1,184 for Jeffrey Kelly.
TJ Lamont, North Whidbey Fire and Rescue board member, has 2,092 votes while his opponent, Jason Lamar, has 1,641.
Robert Wilson leads Charles Niedzialkowski in a race for an open seat on the North Whidbey Parks and Recreation District Board. Wilson leads 3,343 to 2,445.
The Island County Auditor’s Office will update election results Nov. 16. As of the Monday, 21,691 votes had been cast in the Nov. 8 general election, which is 49.43 percent of registered voters in Island County.
