A free way to check your health

“Free” is a word seldom associated with health care in the United States, but for one weekend it is free, thanks to the Oak Harbor Lions Club.

Free health screenings will be available Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ace Hardware, 150 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor in the Lions Health Screening Unit.

Sponsored by the Oak Harbor Lions Club, the screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, vision, glaucoma, and hearing are a program of the non-profit Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing.

Volunteer health professionals and Lions Club members staff the professionally equipped mobile unit. No appointment is necessary.
