Lamont lauded for commissioner

TJ Lamont is the best man for fire commissioner.

1. TJ has experience. TJ has served District 2 for 26 years as a volunteer firefighter. He has 15 years experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

2. TJ is a leader. In addition to his time as a firefighter, he has six years of leadership as our District 2 Fire Commissioner. He has been a Captain in the department for 5 years and training officer for 3 years.

3. TJ is an efficient manager. TJ takes a proactive approach to his job. Under his guidance, the district eliminated the need to have two district fire chiefs. This allows one chief to handle the varying needs for the district without any duplication of effort or equipment.

4. TJ is financially responsible. He plans to keep our district as a volunteer force, recruiting and training qualified personnel. In this way, there will be no increase in taxes. He has been instrumental in developing and maintaining a replacement schedule for all firefighting equipment. This system insures that our firefighters have safe, reliable equipment for the job, which is regularly monitored and updated. Through his responsible financial management, the district is now able to pay cash for all major expenditures.

I know first-hand of TJ’s professionalism. When my garage caught fire, TJ and other volunteers responded quickly. The well-trained responders rapidly extinguished the fire, preventing damage to the house.

I support TJ Lamont for fire commissioner, without reservation. TJ has the experience for the job. His dedication is obvious. His character is above reproach. He is, by far, the most qualified candidate to serve the citizens of our community as fire commissioner.
