Klahowya, one of the state’s top 1A soccer teams, finally pulled away in the second half to defeat Coupeville High School 3-0 Tuesday, April 28, in Silverdale.
“We were able to hold them scoreless in the first half, so overall we came away feeling pretty good about our effort,” Coupeville coach Kyle Nelson said. “We will be playing them again on Monday, and we will try to put together a full game and see if we can get a win.”
The Wolves (2-1, 3-6) have two other matches before meeting the Eagles (2-0, 9-1-2) at home at 5 p.m. Monday, May 4. Thursday, April 30, Coupeville hosts Port Townsend (1-1, 2-6-2) at 5:15 p.m., and then it hosts Charles Wright Academy in a nonleague match at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2.
