Look at all of our ferry routes in this state and consider this oddity; The Edmonds ferry is to/from Edmonds, the Port Townsend ferry is to/from Port Townsend. Clinton? Mukilteo? They follow suit.

Why is the town of Coupeville being kept off the map by continuing to call our ferry landing Keystone? What is Keystone? Who lives in Keystone? What does Keystone have to offer the weary traveler who may be looking for a place to rest and perhaps spend some money? We would stand to benefit on a much larger scale if the name “Coupeville” was actually out there. Travelers take the ferry to Keystone or Clinton and happen to pass through this place called Coupeville on their way to some place else (Anacortes? Canada? Mt. Baker?). Do we want more business? Do we want more exposure? Do we want more opportunity?

I would suggest putting Coupeville on the list of places to visit while transiting through the Puget Sound area. I would suggest calling the ferry landing in Coupeville the Coupeville Ferry Landing. What do you think?
