Kenneth Leslie Larsen

Ken Larsen, 64, died at his home in Oak Harbor on Aug. 12 in the arms of his wife of 30 years after battling cancer for over a year. He was born in Oakland, Calif. to Kenneth L. Larsen and Esther Jensen.

Ken grew up in Oakland where he finished school. After graduating from school he started a career as a commercial fisherman and later worked in the construction industry. He loved to travel all of the west coast from southern California to Alaska. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working with his hands. He was an avid outdoorsman. He spent much of his free time designing boats and working with wood. He moved to Oak Harbor to be near the water, seeking a good place to raise a family.

Ken was a member of North Whidbey Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed shooting trap and talking to the friends he met there.

Ken is survived by his wife, children, grand children, and great grand children.

The family is planning a private celebration of Ken’s life. Family and friends will be notified of the date in the future. The family suggests that any contributions be made to Small Miracles in lieu of flowers.
