Canadian singer/songwriter Connie Kaldor will be making her Washington state debut Friday, May 3, at 8 p.m. in the Coupeville Hight School Performing Arts Center.
This Juno Award winner (Canada’s equivalent to our Grammy) has dazzled audiences around the world. From Vancouver to Beijing, from New Delhi to Washington D.C., this extraordinary singer/songwriter has won the reputation as a first-rate performer.
Vern Olsen heard her two years ago in Cleveland and knew immediately he wanted to have her perform for Concerts on the Cove. In just two songs she won his heart , not just with her beautiful voice but also with her stage presence and gift of gab.
It’s hard to categorize Connie’s style of music. She sings ballads, gospel, country, folk, blues, lullabies and even a song she sang at a friend’s funeral who died of cancer.
The reason she fits well in the Coupeville scene is her connection with the prairies. Hailing from Canada’s prairie heartland (Saskatchewan), her voice is as warm, comforting and enlightening as others from the farmlands of Canada such as Anne Murray and Joni Mitchell. She definitely is Ebey’s Prairie and all Whidbey farmers or would-be farmers should not miss Connie when she weaves tales about life back on the farm.
Tickets can be purchased for only $10 in Coupeville at Coupeville Pharmacy, Videoville and Great Times Espresso; in Oak Harbor at the Daily Grind and Wind & Tide Books; in Freeland at the BookBay, and in Langley at The Moonraker. Tickets at the door will be $12.
